All About Me
My name is Cariza Jardinez Mendoza, and I am a 4th-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) student at Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Carranglan Campus in the Philippines. My journey to becoming an educator has been anything but conventional, as I transitioned from a technical course to education—a decision that marked a significant turning point in my life. Although my background was initially in a technical field, I realized that my true passion lies in teaching and making a positive impact on the lives of young learners. This shift was not easy, but it was incredibly rewarding, leading me to pursue a path where I could follow my heart and pursue what truly motivates me.As part of the SEA Teacher Program, I had the privilege of completing my practice teaching at UNIPMA and SDN 05 Madiun Lor in Indonesia. This experience was transformative, allowing me to grow as an educator while embracing new cultural perspectives. Teaching in a new environment challenged me to adapt, communicate effectively, and connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Despite facing challenges such as language barriers, I was able to refine my teaching methods, build strong relationships with both students and mentors, and make the most of the opportunities for cultural exchange.Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, hiking, and exploring new places and cultures. My time in Indonesia sparked a deeper appreciation for cultural traditions, especially the art of wayang, which became an inspiring part of my journey. These interests influenced my approach to teaching, as I aimed to create a classroom that was not only educational but also welcoming, inclusive, and engaging. As I move forward in my teaching career, I envision a classroom where students feel inspired, motivated, and safe to explore their potential. I believe in the power of education to shape minds and open doors to limitless possibilities. By incorporating creativity, games, and hands-on activities, I aim to make learning both fun and meaningful. The transition from a technical background to education was challenging, but it strengthened my resolve and determination. This experience reinforced my commitment to becoming a teacher who not only imparts academic knowledge but also nurtures values, encourages creativity, and inspires students to dream big. My ultimate goal is to contribute to shaping a brighter future, one student at a time.
